Dick Cheney was a chief of Staff to Presidents, worked for the United States Congress as Secretary of Defense, and served the country in a variety of roles. He's a man of integrity whom is admired by Republicans as well as Democrats. Cheney declared that his position within the Bush administration is to be an open but discreet advisor. Cheney has accepted the Republican vice-presidential nomination in 2007, said his hopes were high for being under a President who will reach across the aisles and work with political rivals through goodwill and a shared goal. Richard Bruce Cheney is the father of Richard Herbert Cheney of the late Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. He was born on January 30, 1941 in Lincoln Nebraska. At the age of 13, Richard Bruce accompanied his parents to Casper (in the US state of Wyoming) in Wyoming, where his father served as director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's soil conservation district.
